Robert Vanderloop Named New K-8 Principal
and Special Education Director
On Wednesday, June 3, 2015, the Independence Board of Education approved Robert Vanderloop as the new PreK-8 Principal and Special Education Director for the Independence School District. Mr. Vanderloop was selected from the sixty-five applicants who applied for the position. On May 18th and 20th, six of the applicants were interviewed by the Board, Administration, and Staff Members. Of these six applicants, the school board selected three for final interviews with the Administration and Board of Education.
Vanderloop had been the Principal at Hillcrest Elementary School in Chippewa Falls since 2008. Previously, he was the Middle and High School Principal at Chippewa Falls McDonell.
He earned his Bachelor's degree in Comprehensive English Education and Theatre from UW-Eau Claire in 2003 and his Masters Degree in Administrative Leadership from the UW-Milwaukee in 2007. In 2013, he earned his Director of Special Education and Pupil Services Licensure from UW-Superior.
Vanderloop will officially begin duties on July 1st, 2015.
